Founded in 1929 by Erik Nicolaysen II, Nicolaysen Agency has been THE hometown insurance agency for Chappaqua, NY for nearly 100 years, serving personal and commercial clients.

Erik's son, Erik Nicolaysen III, went to work with his father after receiving an Engineering Degree at Rutgers University and serving the United States Army in Korea.
In 1967, Erik Nicolaysen III took over the Agency. In the 1970's Erik tore down the original building and put his engineering degree to work building the current office building in the same location.

From 1967-Present, Erik Nicolaysen III has guided the Agency to new heights.
Erik, a CPCU, past President of the NYS Professional Insurance Agents, and past governing member of New York Automobile Insurance Plan is a highly decorated insurance professional.
He is also a exemplary member of the community. Locally he has served as a Councilman and Deputy Supervisor for the Town of New Castle, was active in emergency services for over 50 years, and remains and active member of Rotary and Lions Club.
